The author makes a point on an argument that I've been making for years....however he uses a different angle. My bullet point was always: Variety is better (and different) than randomization.
I subscribe to a plan that addresses my deficiencies, with an overall plan. This is not a cookie-cutter approach. I use periodization AND incorporate Sport Specific Training to influence my performance in certain events, contests, and competitions. The "I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing-tomorrow" approach does not sit well with me.
