I returned from a weekend away to an email inbox with congratulatory notes from some friends. I guess they saw my published CrossFit Journal article before I did!! I had submitted a piece which the editor titled "SWAT Shapes Up." It profiles my transition into functional fitness through CF, as well as that of my team.
It's a proud moment to say the least. To have a story recognized by such a prestigious organization and community is a powerful moment in life. I hope my testimony can pull more people into the culture that has given so many a new take on physical fitness.
NOTE: The article is only available to paying subscribers to the CFJ.

What a transformation you've made. Great stuff and very inspirational!
Congrats Lou!!! I guess now I have to get my subscription to read the whole article!
Way to go Lou! Keep up the great work.
Congratulations Louis! And thanks for all you've taught me about functional fitness.
For you guys who read this and don't know Lou personally, he is the real deal. A tough competitor who has learned to "check his ego at the door". It's amazing how much progress you can make when you figure out that "how much you can bench" has very little to do with functioning in the real world. Lou lives there and is now a better athelete, cop and SWAT officer.
Everyone, thanks for the continual support. The functional fitness community is a tight-knit group of professionals. A mentor of mine once said, "If you want to be the best at something, you must surround yourself with all-stars."
You guys are my all-stars. Keep kicking my butt!
