EXERCISE OF THE WEEK: Hanging Burpee

This video comes to us from one of our own. His experimentation with functional movement yields some pretty cool exercises.

The HANGING BURPEE is one such result of combining simple movements into something sinister. It's really not much more than a Toes-to-Bar (T2B) followed up with a Pullup. I jokingly say "not much more." It makes serious demands on the entire upper body!

For those who follow the principles of the Primary Human Movement Patterns, this couples:
  • Pulling (down)
  • Trunk Flexion
Try some Hanging Burpees. Pair them up with something like Back Extensions or Pushups. But not any pulling movements that will tax your grip!

How to scale Hanging Burpees? Do HK2E instead of T2B. Do "jumping" pullups. Do hanging knee-tucks and jumping pullups.
